Here I am. Here I am, there I am. By true grace. I tell myself I may not be there, but I am there and I move, I move against, I move within. Equilibrist of-in the limit, in front of me the eclipse of this time. Here I am. I am a true story, an eternal dream, a desire, an absence, a tension, a restless body, a piece of wood, an imagined creature, a beating heart, a blinding light, an abysmal darkness, a life.

Pinocch-io is a journey that originates its thought from a personal focus on the fragility and ambiguity of being-us, now-now, as human and living beings. A reflection on the desire to recognize one’s own body; a human body that in its multiple uniqueness and naked disarmament, moves in a condition of dis-equilibrium and tension, between fiction and truth, natural and artificial, light and darkness, life and death. My gaze rests on the archetypal figure of Pinocchio, on that imagined body that projects itself into a liminal, suspended space, in its continuous and stubborn attempt to release its living nature and take that step to enter (its) dreamed world. My body binds itself to the “figur-io” in an act of presence and is mirrored in Pinocchio’s boundless desire to become flesh and gaze. Through movement it practices becoming a living body again, makes space for childhood memory and tries to reconstruct that desire, that transformative passage, that feeling, that visceral need to be there.
