“… e il suo animo gemente, contrastato e dolente, era trafitto da una spada …” Jacopone da Todi
The coreographic work is the first research over the sacredness of sorrow. Hints and notes imaginary intimate represented by a trio of exercises on the inner source of lasciareandare: the aching heart, let it be, trying of detachment. It’s a reflection on the way we must break the habit to amass and to perpetrate old emotions; it’s about learning to avoid living in the past. The body is passed through three scores: sorrow, letting go, flight. Sorrow comes from the solar plexus and it develops itself along the whole body through little contractions and relaxations, small and slight compressions, inner torsions that relaunch the accumulated energy. The attempt to let go is a slow abandon and relaxation, it’s born from the deepest part of the joints and it melts with the movement. The flight is given by a “wings’ beat”, by the attempt to relieve the heart and leave the ground, attraction and repulsion, the slow preparation to fly alternates with shapeless jumps. This creation is a tripthyque, a 30 minutes coreography with an electronic soundtrack purposely created for it. The work still has an embryonic shape and the opportunity to develop it would be essential for defining his form, connecting it with new spaces and new dancers would certainly enhance it.
