Pleasure Rocks explores the material relationship, between organic and inorganic, human and nonhuman. The research moves without distinguishing between human and nature: through the time of exploration and perception, of the space of care and re-connection, it generates a sympoietic alliance of bodies, an intra-action between humans and rocks.

The title is a play on words that suggests the importance of resignifying pleasure, affirming its political and transformative value. The idea of pleasure in Pleasure Rocks evolved during the research process. The rock from object became subject, body, companion of exploration, transforming the initial vision into an experimentation on/with matter.
Rocks has gradually shaped the very time of experience. It is a dilated, geological time that opens up different possibilities of pleasure, in a state of listening that amplifies the senses and reconnects us to the matter we are, in which we are immersed and “intra-acting.”

Pleasure Rocks opens questions about the urgently needed shift in the anthropocentric viewpoint on the world: just as with animals and plants, with minerals and the conformation of territories, we need to rethink our being, in a perspective that is not only devoted to exploitation and predation, but to knowledge and relationship.

Pleasure Rocks is a collaboration between artistic duo Titta C. Raccagni and Barbara Stimoli and visual artist Alessia Bernardini.

Thanks to the interaction between different artistic paths and languages, Pleasure rocks research has generated over the years a publication, an exhibition, a workshop, a video installation, and a land-specific performance installation.
