C.G.J. Giulio and Jari Collective was born from the collaboration between Jari Boldrini and Giulio Petrucci. Both dancers, they find a strong synergy thanks to their shared work experiences with different authors.
Founded in 2018, the collective is dedicated to researching new performance languages, focusing on the body and movement, exploring the everyday nuances present in every culture and the potential of the body as a vehicle for authentic and meaningful artistic expression.
Their investigations manifest themselves through different formats and modules, each of which elaborates new insights each time.
For the duo, these investigations represent an opportunity to explore new aspects of matter and space, triggering mechanisms that stimulate movement.
In 2020 they obtain the support of Simona Bertozzi’s Nexus Factory and Anghiari Dance Hub.
With the work Evento, they are selected for the Anticorpi XL 2020 Showcase and Anghiari Dance Hub 2020, and in the same year they receive the Danza&Danza award as emerging performers.
In 2021, thanks to ResiDanceXL 21, they undertake their second creation, Pas de deux, which gets production support by winning DNAppunti coreografici 2021.
Performance that will then be selected for the NID Platform in 2023.
They present their work in various festivals, including La Democrazia del Corpo (Florence), Buffalo (Rome), FOG Triennale (Milan), Interplay (Turin), Fabbrica Europa (Florence), Operaestate (Bassano del Grappa), RomaEuropa Festival (Rome), Gender Bender (Bologna), Venere in Teatro (Mestre), and Racconti di Altre Danze (Livorno).
